Dental Bridges in Tonbridge

A bridge is used as a replacement for one or more of your missing teeth. It is natural-looking and functional.

A bridge will give you back your natural bite and prevent unwanted movement of adjacent teeth and over eruption of the opposing teeth. We would recommend them as an alternative to a removable partial denture.

Our bridges are made from the highest quality materials. We also offer minimal preparation adhesive bridges for the conservation of the tooth tissue.

Modern dental materials enable bridges including ones for your back teeth to be manufactured from ceramic materials, without any additional underlying layers of metal for extra strength giving the bridges a natural appearance. In fact they look so natural even you will have difficulty telling them apart from your own teeth! They are also suitable if you are known to have an allergy or sensitivity to metals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I look after my bridge?

Daily cleaning is essential to prevent problems such as bad breath and gum disease. You should also clean under the false tooth daily. We will show you how to use super floss or little brushes to clean under the bridge, as a normal toothbrush can’t reach.

How long does a bridge last?

A bridge should last for many, many years. But this is dependent on how you care for them. Consider the daily habits that could be affecting your bridge and you’ll be able to extend its wear.

Will the dentist use anaesthetic?

Generally, it isn’t necessary for an anaesthetic for Maryland bridge but it’s usually necessary for a conventional bridge. That is of course unless your tooth or the teeth being used for retainers have already had root canal treatment. We will let you know before any work begins whether you may need an anaesthetic, if you do, we will anaesthetise the teeth before working on them so that you don’t feel anything.
